Dr. Tasnim Alami-Laroussi and Dr. Farid Amer Ouali are parents of four children and co-founders of the Sourires Solidaires community pediatric clinic. Their idea was born in 2016 when Farid and Tasnim teamed up with Yvon Leclerc, a pedodontist from the city of Laval. In their practice, they witnessed the problem of access to care for children with special needs and those who came from underprivileged backgrounds. They became aware of this by referring organizations, dentists, and other professionals in the community.
In 2021, the project really came to life, and the official launch of the clinic took place on August 20. The founders are happy that solid foundations have finally been created, but they are aware that to sustain the organization, essential links and partnerships must be developed.
